#1 DIY sprayed wrapping paper

What you’ll need:

– monochrome wrapping paper
– white or black watercolour paint
– toothbrush or paintbrush
– scissors
– tape

What to do:

Take plain, monochrome wrapping paper. Make your paintbrush or toothbrush wet and quickly dab it into the watercolor paint. Simply spray the paint onto the paper using your fingers. If you want to create some interesting lines or leave a part of the paper plain, simply put another piece of paper on top of the area you would like to leave blank. Leave the paper to dry and wrap your presents as usually.

#2 DIY pattern wrapping paper

What you’ll need:

– plain wrapping paper
– beach towel
– black ink pad
– golf ball
– scissors
– tape

What to do:

Place a beach towel under your paper so you have a soft base. If your base is too hard, the print will be one colored and far less interesting. Simply dab the ball onto the ink pad and make little circle movements on your paper. Leave the paper to dry and wrap your presents as usually.

#3 Simple string wrapping

What you’ll need:

– plain wrapping paper
– chunkier string
– scissors
– tape

What to do:

Wrap your present in any color of plain paper. Take the string and wrap it around the present in an irregular pattern. Use a chunkier string and make sure it is tied quite tight. To make it a bit easier attach the string to the bottom of the present with the tape. You can of course add some greenery and a tag to this present too, but we prefer to keep it very simple.

#4 Simple Bag

What you’ll need:

– plain wrapping paper
– scissors
– scotch tape
– hole punch
– ribbon

What to do:

Roll out some of your wrapping paper and place the oddly shaped item that you want to wrap on top of it. Cut your wrapping paper to size. Place your paper face down on your table. Fold the right and left sides in until they meet in the middle and overlap some. Tape the seam. Fold the bottom of the wrapping paper up to create the bottom of the bag. Separate the two pieces of wrapping paper and flatten out the corners to create a diamond shape. Fold the top and bottom corners in toward the middle of the diamond. Tape in place. Fold the top of the bag over to the back side. Use your shape hole punch to punch holes for ribbon of your choosing. Thread ribbon through the holes and tie a bow.

#5 Minimal wrapping

What you’ll need:

– plain wrapping paper
– ribbon
– scissors
– tape

What to do:

Wrap your present in any color of plain paper. Take the ribbon and wrap it around the present. Use a wide ribbon and make sure it is tied quite tight. To make it a bit easier attach the ribbon to the bottom of the present with the tape. You can of course add some greenery and a tag to this present too, but we prefer to keep it very simple.
